OOF. Hello.
YOU WOULD THINK, that after SIX WEEKS of sickness, the final one lived fully in the bed, I would have more fun internet content to share with you. Like, what else was I doing besides scrolling through nonsense?
Alas, as I started gathering it all together I found that mostly everything is a blur. I was sick. I watched some stuff. I napped. I read some things. I coughed a lot. Eh well.
A few good things:
📖 Book Of The Month Subscription. This was a birthday gift and I have loved it. It’s so fun adding more physical books to my shelf. I like seeing them there even when I haven’t read them yet. The app catalogues all of the past BOTM picks, so even the books I don’t choose I can still reference and borrow from the library.
📺 Jason Sudeikis on SNL. I’m not a die hard SNL fan, but I do watch when there’s a host I particularly like. From the monologue to the final sketch, Sudeikis did not disappoint. My favorites were Annie and Science Room.
🕰 Loki. I was hesitant to start this series. I’d heard it dealt with time-travel, which usually exhausts me. But during the particularly hellish week when Trevor and I were BOTH sick in bed we gave it a shot and both loved it! Loki has always been a favorite character of mine, and the time trope was presented in a fresh way that didn’t leave me confused or bored. Bonus, only six episodes.
🪄 Pop-up Harry Potter. A few months back I was browsing the internet looking for hardback Harry Potter books. I thought I’d eventually get a set that would look nicer on my shelves. (I’ve had the same paperback set for years, and I love them, but after college and six moves they’re not getting any prettier.) Right as I was feeling discouraged by how expensive (and not THAT much prettier) a full set of HP hardbacks are, I came across this still-releasing set of *illustrated pop-ups*. CORRECT. The FULL text, illustrated, with POP-UPS. They are gorgeous. When I came across them only The Sorcerer’s Stone was out, but I now have The Chamber of Secrets as well. I figure if they release one every year I’ll have the full set by the time my kids are ready to read them.
Some Good Tweets
(The first two are in regards to Facebook’s name change. Do you know about this? Wild times.)
Alrighty folks. One of my kids has definitely been staring at a screen for too long and the other is crying, so that’s it for me.
I would love to know what you’re reading, watching, or giggling at lately. Also! If anybody has any recommendations for an audio Bible that doesn’t have an orchestral soundtrack or an overly-holy sounding reader, I’m in the market.
Love you, bye.
